Nate Fox Returns To The BBL To The New York Phantoms Braunschweig
After word came out that Andrew Drevo had left the Phantoms to the warmer climate of Spain, it suddenly left the New York Phantoms Braunschweig in a bind, but they reacted strongly taking a while, but getting real quality at the power forward position with old BBL friend Nate Fox (206-F/C-77, agency: Pro One Sports, college: Maine). The 32 year old 206 cm 113 kilo american played in Estonia last season for BC Kalev/Cramo Tallinn playing 19 games and averaging 14.5ppg, 6.6rpg, 2.3apg, 1.8spg, FGP: 45.5%, 3PT: 41.9%, FT: 67.6% in the Baltic league and averaging 12.2ppg, Reb-5 (7.1rpg), 1.5apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 62.8%, 3PT-3 (46.9%), FT: 69.7% in 15 games in the Estonian league. Even though the Phantoms lost Andrew Drevo, the organization feels that getting Fox is a huge improvement. 'We decided in getting a player that has had continued consistent stats in the last years. He knows the BBL well from his days with Leverkusen and is more than just a good replacement for Andrew Drevo', stressed Phnatoms sports director Oliver Braun . He played a very strong Eurochallenge last season averaging 14.3ppg, 7.7rpg, 2.3apg, 1.7spg in six games.

In 2002-2003, he had his first stay at the Bayer Giants Leverkusen playing 26 games and averaging11,5 ppg, 6,7 rpg. In 2003-2004, he played for two teams for Hapoel Haifa/Ramat Hasharon in Israel playing 8 games and averaging 15.8ppg, 6.9rpg, 1.9apg, 1.6spg, before moving in Feb.2004 to Vastiau Basket Groot Leuven in Belgium playing 19 games and averaging16.0ppg, 10.9rpg, 2.7apg. In 2004-2005, he started in Holland for MPC/Capitals Groningen playing 6 games and averaging 12.3ppg, 8.7rpg, 1.3apg, 2.2spg before going to Bayer Giants Leverkusen where he would stay for four successful years. In his first stint with Leverkusen, he played 14 games averaging 11.7ppg, 7.4rpg. His best statistical year was his first in 2005-2006 as he played 30 games averaging 15.2ppg, Reb-2 (9.5rpg), 1.7apg, 1.7spg, 2FGP: 48.3%, 3PT: 34.9%. His dismissal in March 2008 after a positive doping-test and then receiving a worldwide suspension for seven and a half months did tarnish his reputation in the basketball world a little bit.
